BERTIE – CAVALIER KING CHARLES

PROBLEM – AGGRESSION TO OTHER DOGS, CONSTANT FOULING IN HOUSE, NOISY IN CAR

Bertie
Sue, an experienced dog owner rang me about young Bertie’s problems.

She was very exasperated having owned dogs all her life and never had problems like this before.

Ironically, she had previously had rescue dogs which can be fraught with problems, but her daughters had talked into getting a pedigree dog for the first time and she had occasionally regretted it!!

Bertie hasn’t had the easiest start in life, being diagnosed with quite severe hip dysplasia more often seen in larger breeds.

Sue was determined to get to the bottom of his problems which were numerous.

Bertie would regularly foul indoors despite Sue’s best efforts at house-training him. When out he would either fixate in an aggressive manner with other dogs, or if he found a dog he wanted to socialize with he would be over boisterous with them.

Bertie would also whine and bark excessively when in the car.

Despite her previous experience with dogs, Sue was very receptive to my complete change in methods which were designed to enhance her leadership skills with her dog. Two sessions later, Bertie had made major improvements and Sue now has a dog which is much easier to live with.

“This has been a total revelation. From the first day you came, Bertie has been clean in the house which was remarkable. He has also stopped whining and barking in the car which makes driving much more pleasant and the barking and over-fixated behaviour with other dogs has improved dramatically.

I realise I need to continue being pack-leader and can now get much more pleasure from walking Bertie than I dreamed imaginable a short time ago. Thank you
for all your help.”
Sue.
